Blue Movie

Summary

Sex seems to be the only remaining means of communication in an immense apartment building in a modern city suburb.

At least that is the impression given by Blue Movie, which concerns the adventures of a virile young man. Michael is released from prison after five years to enter a society where complete sexual freedom flourishes. The rehabilitation officer helpfully places him in an apartment, but the love loves of his new neighbours do not stay hidden for long. An attractive neighbour is ready to help the sex-starved Michael, and soon there are others on the scene, including the German wife of a professor who compares human behaviour with that of the monkeys. Michael begins to organise sex parties with and for neighbours, but he finds he is impotent with the first woman he wants to seduce, with whom he has fallen in love. Sexual freedom is not all that wonderful when you really have to live with it, according to Blue Movie.

Infamous Dutch film, and a commercial hit at that - the film drew busses full of Belgian cinema-goers across the border.
