Frans Bromet
Biography
Frans Bromet is a Dutch television programme maker, cameraman and producer. He trained at the Netherlands Film and Television Academy. During his time there, he started up a film group called '1,2,3 enzovoort' with Jan de Bont, René Daalder, Rem Koolhaas and Samuel Meyering. In 1965 they made the short film De 1,2,3 rhapsodie.
Bromet worked as a cameraman on many Dutch and German productions. His work for VPRO television included the award-winning documentary series Buren and Veldpost. For these sorts of productions, Bromet used the form of 'involved reporting': from behind his moving camera he's constantly questioning the people he's filming; with his characteristic drawling voice, he's always present. Bromet has his own production company, Bromet & dochters.
