Frank & Eva

Summary

Pim de la Parra gives lively and continuous coverage to Frank and Eva's bouts of lovemaking and quarrelling in his third 'one-man' film. Their motto seems to be, 'Make love and war', as they cannot live together but cannot live without each other either.

And so their married life takes place mainly on the battlefield. When passion gets too much for her or when Frank's mischievousness threatens to soften her heart, Eva is only too ready to break off for a fight. Someone who figures largely in their daily life - and in the film - is old Max, the owner of the 'local' who has seen everything and been everywhere, and whose funeral is, at his own request, the occasion for a mighty celebration.
