Vier rakkers en een oude jeep
Summary
Children's film about a farmer and his fight against a greedy real estate agent.
A poor shoemaker and his wife inherit a farm in the southern province of Limburg. However, the farm has been heavily mortgaged by local real estate agent Bol who is planning to get his hands on the land which will soon be mined and therefore worth a fortune. Bol tries to badger the shoemaker into selling but he refuses. Shortly after the couple and their four young nephews have moved into the farm, it looks as if things may take a nasty turn. The children, helped by their trusty German Shepherd Tarzan, decide to do something about it.
Vier rakkers en een oude jeep, directed by children's film pioneer Henk van der Linden, was announced as a 'a film full of mischief and mayhem'. Van der Linden made 38 feature films between 1952 and 1985, nearly always based on popular children's books and cartoons, such as 'De avonturen van Dik Trom' (Dik Trom's adventures), 'Sjors en Sjimmie' (George and Jimmy) and 'Billy Turf' (Billy Bunter). Van der Linden's films are full of slapstick, action and feature numberless chases. Virtue is invariably rewarded, evil punished and the baddies are sure to come in for a jolly good thrashing from the young and cheery heroes.
