The film consisted of two parts.

Part I, the legend, takes place in the year 1633 (and was shot in the Lepelstraat, Haarlem, and also in fields where hyacinths were in bloom).
Part II consisted of "a walk through the beautiful tulip fields in the surroundings of Haarlem".
