Biography
René Hazekamp followed the film course at the HRITCS in Brussels, and finished that education in 1986. Since then, he has directed a number of short dance films for his own company Stichting Cendrillon, 1899. For those projects, he has usually worked with a number of permanent collaborators, including the dancer and choreographer Peter Kho Sien Kie and cameraman Benito Strangio.
Hazekamp also worked as a director for the VPRO program Lola da Musica and before then made documentaries about rock bands such as AC/DC and The Ex, and also filmed a concert by P.J. Harvey.
René Hazekamp lives and works in Rotterdam.
