Sensationeele vliegdemonstratie door den Franschen luchtacrobaat Pegoud
Summary
Reportage about the flight demonstration held by Adolphe Pégoud in Rotterdam.
In November of 1913, the French aviator Adolphe Pégoud held a spectacular flight demonstration for an enthusiastic audience in Rotterdam. Pégoud was known for his stunt work, and was the first aviator who made a loop.
This brief reportage, made by Kinematograaf Pathé Frères, the Dutch branch of Pathé, consists of two parts. The first shows the crowded Woudesteijn airfield, where Pégoud is celebrated by local dignitaries. Before he takes to the air, he signs a few more autographs. The film also contains images of Pégoud’s stunts in the air, and of Pégoud amidst the public after his landing. Part two of the documentary is a portrait of Pégoud.
