Kabels leggen door het IJ bij Amsterdam
Summary
Reportage about the laying of electric cables in the IJ.
On one bank of the IJ is the municipal waste incineration plant, and on the other side is Amsterdam’s power station. Between the two stations, ships help to lay power lines on the bottom of the IJ. The film proudly states that the Dutch-made cables were produced by the Nederlandsche Kabelfabriek (NKF) in Delft. The cable-laying work is carried out under the supervision of a group of invited guests.
