Een kino-tooneelstuk

Summary

In Buffalo, USA, Mrs Cranby, the wife of a lawyer with a busy practice, decides that, at the end of the social season, she will give a week-end party at her country home overlooking Alexandra Bay. One of the guests will be Sir John Warwick, her former admirer. Thomas Cranby is so engrossed in his work that he too often neglects his wife. Longing for love, she relapses into romantic reveries in which Sir John plays an important rôle. Mrs Cranbry plans to elope with him, but at the rendezvous she is surprised by her husband who is able to convince her of his love. Ultimately this all turns out to be nothing but the young woman's bad dream. It will nevertheless strengthen her acceptance of her marital duty and obedience when, in reality, Sir John appears at her garden party.
