Minna, the daughter of Weermer, a customs officer in Volendam, falls in love with the smuggler Piet Blommens unknown to her father. One day the revenue men surprise the smugglers, and a chase over sea and over land takes place, during which the girl's lover is wounded. He is about to shoot one of the officers when he recognizes him as his fiancée's father, and he escapes to the girl. She hides him in a loft, but the blood from his wound trickles through the floor and discloses his presence to the girl's father. She confesses that the smuggler is her lover, and finally the father pardons them both.
