Ibiza, zon en zonde

Crime film about a journalist who gets involved with drugs smugglers on the hedonistic island of Ibiza.

In the early 1960s Ibiza became a favourite destination among Dutch artists and writers. The sunny Spanish island could not have been more of a contrast to the sombre post-war dreariness of the Netherlands and proved an inspiration to people like writers Jan Cremer, Cees Nooteboom, Harry Mulisch and photographer Cas Oorthuys.

Sjors en Sjimmie op Pirateneiland

Children’s film about popular cartoon heroes Sjors and Sjimmie.

Sjors and Sjimmie time-travel to the 18th century and find themselves on a deserted pirate island where the inevitable buried treasure lies buried. They are captured by the pirates but manage to escape back to their own time, taking the treasure with them. Director Henk van der Linden situated his film among some very impressive-looking rocks and caves.

Urk

Documentary about UrkDocumentary about the people of Urk, consisting mainly of shots of women, men, and children in traditional costume, posing for the camera. The film was probably shot on a public holiday. We see several women doing their daily work: hanging the laundry, and fetching water from the pump. A postman comes along with the letters.
