La peinture et les cochons

Summary

A painter falls in love with a pretty Dutch girl as she watches him painting a group of children. Telling his models to wait until he returns, the painter accompanies the girl home. Unfortunately, they are seen by the girl's father, who sends them both about their business.

The painter, returning to the spot where he left his paraphernalia, finds that both models and painting have disappeared, the children having conceived the idea of tying the sketch to the tail of a pig. In the distance he can see them running after the animal. Now ensues a lively chase, in which the painter's sweetheart and her father join. The two latter soon outstrip the painter and the peasants. The father rescues the sketch, and is so delighted with the artist's talent that he opens out his heart to him, with the happy result that the lovers are able to forget their fears.
