A.P.A. Adriaansz
Biography
A.P.A. Adriaansz was an Amsterdam photographer who at the beginning of the 20th century spent several years working in Maurits H. Binger’s lithographic printing office in Haarlem; Binger had not yet become a movie producer at that point.
The first films on which Adriaansz worked as a cameraman were Genie tegen geweld and Het proces Begeer, both of which films were directed by Theo Frenkel Sr. for his company Amsterdam Film Cie. Adriaansz then worked for several years as a cameraman for Willy Mullens’ company Haghe Film.
At the end of the 1920s, he founded the company Pax-Filmfabriek in the Amsterdam neighbourhood of Buitenveldert. For this company, Adriaansz made documentaries as well as advertising and corporate films.
