Trouwe kameraden

Summary

Children’s film about the friendship between two children and a dog.

Orphans Elsje and Henk are staying with their uncle Janus Zwengel, a poor organ grinder. Every day after school, they and their dog Hector help Janus as he plies his trade. One day Hector is stolen by a dog catcher who sells him to a rich lady and her ill son Freddy.

The children find out where the dog is and decide to follow the rich lady. When they spot the family onboard a yacht about to sail off, Elsje jumps into the water. The dog saves her and Elsje tells the lady that Hector is her dog. Freddy doesn’t want to part with him and asks if Elsje and Henk can’t stay instead. Elsje, Henk and Hector move in with the rich lady and Freddy gets well in no time at all.
