Het verraad van de zwarte roofridder

Summary

Children’s film about a mysterious green seal.

The film tells the story of knight Bruno and his children who are trying to prevent the green seal from falling into the hands of the Black Knight. The person who has the seal becomes all-powerful and fortunately, after many adventures, the seal ends up with good knight Bruno.

As in almost all of Henk van der Linden’s films the children behave like small adults, gamely leading the fight against evil.

Director Henk van der Linden is regarded as the pioneer of the Dutch children’s film. He made some forty feature length films between 1952 and 1985, often based on popular children’s books and cartoons, such as ‘De avonturen van Dik Trom’ (Dik Trom’s adventures), ‘Sjors en Sjimmie’ (George and Jimmy) and ‘Billy Turf’ (Billy Bunter). Van der Linden not only directed, produced and edited the film, he also wrote the screenplay, designed the sets and worked behind the camera.
