Summary

Romantic comedy about a market trader who makes a career as a music hall artist.

In Het leven is zoo kwaad niet, popular music hall artist Lou Bandy plays the role of Helm, a shaving cream touting market trader who sells his wares very successfully by having a laugh with the customers and singing catchy songs. Helm is spotted by Anita Mara of the Odeon Revue who thinks he was born to be a music hall star. He eagerly sign the contract she offers him, becomes a big hit and leaves his girlfriend Annie for Anita. It all goes pear shaped, however, and Helm goes back to his old job and his old girlfriend, wiser but still with a song on his lips
