Summary

Documentary about Harlingen, an old Frisian harbour town.

The documentary shows a number of picturesque streets, squares, waterways, harbours, and buildings in Harlingen, and gives an impression of the city from the Zeedijk. Ships, bicyclists, walkers, and other random passers-by appear in the film. The intertitles provide historical background information. In the final shot, we see the statue of Caspar de Robles, the Viceroy of Friesland who made major improvements to the sea walls around 1570.
