De oorlog in Transvaal

Summary

The original film consisted of four different shots of an unnamed actor portraying Paul Kruger, one of them apparently a close-up of Kruger's head silhouetted against the sky, shown while couplets about the Transvaal were being declaimed by Mr and Mrs Paulus.

In theatre Flora this was followed by an "Apotheosis" on the stage in which Paul Kruger shakes hands with a wounded Boer. In the foreground, three wounded English soldiers, supported by Red Cross nurses, were lying on the ground. Around them were grouped "well-imitated" Boers, while an Angel appeared to descend from Heaven and offer Paul Kruger a laurel-crown.
