International thriller/science fiction film about the discovery of a cure for ageing; shot in Amsterdam with a line-up of Dutch actors.

An American scholar comes to Amsterdam for a gerontology conference. He meets a Dutch colleague he’s friends with who tells him he has developed a serum to extend life indefinitely. After the Dutchman commits suicide the next day, the American starts to investigate what happened. He has an affair with his colleague’s ex-girlfriend and meets a secretive Swiss pharmaceutical manufacturer, played by Klaus Kinski.

The portrait of a brief but tumultuous love affair between a young woman and a man about the same age, 30, whose style of life is utterly different. Pierre is a successful businessman, a 'modern conservative'. Toni is a hairdresser with a company of revue artists, living in a far less protected world. The people she moves among are different from Pierre's rather formal friends. They find it fairly easy to disregard existing norms. But Toni's non-conformism arouses Pierre's interest.

He is on guard day and night and the villagers are laughing at him behind his back. Then a pyromaniac embarks on a series of fires and at last Draes can show the village what is he is worth.

Jimmy, a racing driver meets Annette, a model from Paris at the Zandvoort circuit.

They both use their work as a means of escape, and during their brief affair neither of the two has the courage to be their true self. The subsequent series of misunderstandings between them causes Annette to decide to return to Paris when her work in Amsterdam is finished. In this process of growth, of reaching maturity, Jimmy loses not only the girl he loves but also his self-assurance, and he has no choice but to abandon his racing career.

Kermis in de regen

Crime film about a petty thief who tries to get a witness to a car robbery killed.

In 1962, the celebrated actor Kees Brusse made his feature film directorial debut with Kermis in de regen (Fair in the rain). It’s a psychological thriller in which a small-time crook robs a car, killing the owner in the process. He then tries to bump off the only witness to the event. Actors Guido de Moor, Ko van Dijk and André van den Heuvel play the lead parts. Brusse’s directive skill were praised: he had managed to tone down Van Dijk’s irrepressibly exuberant acting style.

Flanagan

Paul Flanagan has served an eight-year sentence for his part in a robbery. He has been released, unexpectedly, and renews his contact with his girl friend, Cathy, and his half-brother, Peter Babel, both of whom deserted him in his time of need. Paul Flanagan's aim is to find out the whereabouts of the money from the robbery, which his half-brother has hidden away somewhere, for fear of discovery.
