Voetbalwedstrijd om het kampioenschap van Nederland te Groningen op zondag 15 april 1923 tusschen Be-Quick en Go-Ahead
Summary
Reportage about a football match.
In April of 1923, the Groningen club Be Quick and the Deventer club Go Ahead played their second league game of the season, this time in Groningen’s Essenberg stadium. This stadium was built in 1921, based on a design by Be Quick player Evert van Linge. The stands are very crowded. Be Quick’s forwards take the kickoff. In the first half, the Groningen club gets several chances, and Groningen’s ‘international’ Jaap Bulder almost scores. During halftime, a band composed of Groningen postal workers provides the musical background. After the match, which ended in a draw, a long procession of spectators leave the stadium.
