The Maatschappij tot Exploitatie van Witte Films was founded on October 18, 1917, by Maurits Binger. The new company set itself the goal of producing films of 'good moral and artistic' value, with Roman Catholics as the intended audience. Toward this end, contacts were established with Catholic politicians and spiritual leaders. The management and board consisted mostly of executives and board members of Filmfabriek Hollandia.

In 1918, the Maatschappij tot Exploitatie van Witte Films was acquired by the distributor Loet C. Barnstijn. For the distribution of the 'white films', he founded the firm BenS.

In 1918, the company produced the trilogy Oorlog en vrede, and this was followed in 1921 by the release of De rechten der jeugd, a film that had been produced in 1918. After this, nothing more was heard from this company.
