After the First World War, actress Andrea Domburg studied for a year at the Amsterdam Theatre School. She was trained by Vera Bondam and made her debut in 1946 at Floris Meslier's Theater Plezier. She joined Cor Ruys' theatre group Vrij Toneel after being introduced to him through his cabaret.
In the years thereafter, she lived in France with her husband Ferdi Posthuma de Boer. She did, however, continue to play in Dutch films and television series, including Kleren maken de man, Jenny, Kermis in de regen, Als twee druppels water, Keetje Tippel, Soldaat van Oranje and Wilde harten.
