Summary

Short film that shows street advertising for various products.

The opening shot shows a group of people behind the fence of a market area. ‘Only dealers have access,’ reads the sign. This film shows all kinds of street advertisements, mainly on pull-carts with imaginatively made signs: Beer matches, the Begeer silverware factory, the Amsterdamsche Spaarkasbank, Hollandia footwear, Ter Wee's tea, Oud’s cinchona wine, Hima bicycles, and Anker watches. The footage was shot in Utrecht, at locations including the Janskerkhof and the Domplein. Seeing as one of the advertising carts refers to Utrecht’s Jaarbeurs trade fair, these were most likely advertisements for companies presenting themselves at the fair. Utrecht’s Jaarbeurs was held for the first time in 1917.
