De guitenstreken van Jopie Slim en Dickie Bigmans

Summary

Youth film based on the famous newspaper cartoon 'Jopie Slim en Dikkie Bigmans'.

The originally English comic strip 'Jopie Slim en Dikkie Bigmans' began running in the Dutch newspaper 'De Telegraaf' in 1921, and turned out to be enormously popular. Very soon, the first albums were being published about the adventures of the mischievous Jopie Slim and his pig Dikkie Bigmans.

In January of 1938, film veteran Jan van Dommelen shot an 8mm film adaptation, commissioned by Neerlandia, about the pair's adventures. Van Dommelen had Jopie and Dikkie get involved in all kinds of mischief, but hinted that the two of them had their 'hearts in the right place', and they were rewarded for their good deeds.
