Blokkade
Summary
Experimental film about espionage and secret arms deliveries.
A 1934 spy story set in the then distant future of 1950 about a detective on the trail of a spy. The League of Nations is threatening to blockade the ports of the Netherlands if it doesn't put a stop to the covert arms deliveries to the warmongering country of Paruma. After a protracted chase, the chief of the Dutch secret services manages to expose the consul of Paruma for the gun smuggler that he is.
The film was made by students of the Film-Technische Leergang, a film making course that originated with the Studio Joris Ivens and was influenced by European avant garde films. Only a handful of scenes remain of Blokkade.
