Summary

Spots of light in a dark room. Flickering shadows on the wall. Slowly the spots become recognizable as a hand, a piece of cotton rope, and a spinning wheel. The sounds of passing trains, ships, and automobiles are intertwined with minimalist piano music and arias by Schubert.
