history
From 1912 to October 1918, Jean Desmet was the owner and general manager of the Cinema Palace, located on Kalverstraat 224 in Amsterdam.
During the same period, David Hamburger Sr. was also on the board. Under the name Cinema Palace NV, Desmet was also a film distributor.
In addition, around 1920 the company was the producer and commissioner of a number of news items. After 1927, the Roxy cinema took up residence in this building
