Maatschappij voor Artistieke Cinematografie

geschiedenis

De Maatschappij voor Wetenschappelijke Cinematografie en de Maatschappij voor Artistieke Cinematografie werden op 18 mei 1912 in Haarlem opgericht door onder meer Maurits H. Binger. De eerstgenoemde maatschappij produceerde wetenschappelijke, industriële, economische en ethische films en de tweede richtte zich op het maken van fictiefilms.

Op 20 mei 1913 werden beide maatschappijen samengevoegd tot de Maatschappij voor Wetenschappelijke en Artistieke Cinematografie, die later overging in Filmfabriek Hollandia. In totaal heeft de Maatschappij voor Artistieke Cinematographie veertien korte speelfilms geproduceerd.

Voor deze films werd in 1913 een eigen filmstudio ingericht aan de Antoniestraat in Haarlem.
