When Johnny comes out of prison after serving a five-year sentence, he finds his friend Rijk waiting for him. The latter is anxious to make use of Johnny's talent for finding simple solutions to knotty problems. Together they go into business as 'handymen' who undertake the oddest kinds of jobs.

War film about a raid on a prison in Leeuwarden in 1944.

On December 8 1944, a number of Frisian resistance fighters raided a prison in Leeuwarden and, without loss of blood, freed dozens of prisoners, among them several leaders of the Leeuwarden resistance and a police inspector. For some of the prisoners, severely weakened by torture, the raid came just in time. De overval paints a sober and unromantic picture of this heroic deed.

After a fight with his teacher, headstrong Anthony Fokker refuses to go back to his old school in Haarlem. He goes to a technical college in Mainz instead where he talks his teachers into including airplane design in the curriculum. Fokker is soon building a prototype of his 'Spider' plane.
