Sjors van de Rebellenclub met Vacantie

Summary

Children's film about a cartoon character and his pals.

George goes camping and builds a club house with his friends Dikkie, a sturdy farmer's son, Sjuul, a boy 'who demonstrated quite clearly how not to look like a decent boy', Wimpie, Puckie and tomboy Suzy. Later on they find themselves in Amsterdam and visit the animals in the zoo. The films ends at the seaside with the gang frolicking in the waves.

Sjors van de Rebellenclub op vacantie was not only the first children's sound film, it was also the world's first feature aimed especially at children. The film also featured a rebellious George-and-his-gang song - worried parents were assured that the lyrics and the tune had been composed by 'a responsible pedagogue'.
