Nico Crama
Biography
In addition to his work as a filmmaker, Nico Crama is also a producer of short films and animated films. Beginning in the mid-1960s, he produced many animated films for e.g. Rupert van der Linden, Paul Driessen, Borge Ring, Gerrit van Dijk, and Evert de Beijer. Crama was also active in the promotion and distribution of short films and animations. He was one of the organizers of the ‘Dag van de Korte Film’ (‘Day of the Short Film’) in 1975, was the chairman of the Vereniging Holland Animation (Holland Animation Association), and he founded the Stichting Holland Animation (Foundation Holland Animation).
In 1976, Crama produced the long-form fiction film It’s Me, for Frans Zwartjes.
In 1998, Crama produced his last film; in 2004, the Nederlands Film Festival paid tribute to him with a retrospective of his work.
