Biography

Max Louis Blitz was originally a diamond cutter, but made the switch to the theatre at an early age. He made his stage debut in 1912, and during the First World War he worked at Max Gabriëls Operettegezelschap, after which he joined De Nederlandsche Opera.

Starting in 1919, worked as a telepath on many detective cases, and in 1933 he took part in the Wereldcongres van Psychiaters  in London. Blitz wrote a number of screenplays, and published articles in artists’ magazines.

In 1918, he founded the Blitz-Film Company, with the aim of filming his own screenplay, Haar schaakzet. The studio of the Blitz-Film Company is believed to have been behind the proposed IJ-pavilion in Amsterdam North. But after the initial announcements, nothing more was heard of the project, in which John Gildemeijer of Rembrandt Film Co. was also said to be involved.
