Biography
Emile Brumsteede studied at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten (Royal Academy of Art) in The Hague. He then worked as an illustrator, filmmaker, and film critic, and authored several film books.
He was one of the driving forces behind The Hague’s Amateur Film Club (HAF), and his work included 44 short 16mm films. He was also a consultant to the film club of Leiden’s Student Corps (for example on the film Een hagedis teveel by Paul Verhoeven).
Emile Brumsteede was the art director at Carillon Films in Rijswijk.
