Cor Aafjes

Biography

Cor Aafjes began in 1921 as an assistant to B.D. Ochse, general manager of the Haarlem film company Filmfabriek Polygoon. He worked his way up to chief projectionist and adjunct-director of Polygoon. In early 1928, hemade the Handelsbladfilm, an acclaimed documentary in which the stylistic features of the modern avant-garde were clearly visible.

 Shortly thereafter, Aafjes died during the filming of En gij, kameraad?, a film commissioned by the Centrale Bond van Transportarbeiders .
