Arthur Dreifuss
Biography
Arthur Dreifuss was a German-born American director, producer and scriptwriter. He worked in film, television and theatre.
At the start of the 1930s he produced theatre musicals. In 1928 he left for the United States, where he worked as a theatre producer and later as a dance director. He made his debut as a film director in 1940 with the film Mystery in Swing.
In the Netherlands he is best known for his television series Secret File USA, a series of more than twenty war and spy stories revolving around agent Major Morgan (played by the American actor Robert Alda). Because of the low production costs and favourable exchange rate, every episode was shot in Cinetone Studios in Duivendrecht. In 1966 he filmed the thrilled 10.32, a murder mystery set in Amsterdam.
