Summary

Propaganda film for the Christian Federation of Trade and Transport Workers.

Based on the trials and tribulations of the Doelman family, the fifty-year history of a Christian labor union is shown. The cast included well-known stage actors of the day such as Herman Bouber and Max Croiset. Verbroken boeien was shot on 16mm film, and was also distributed as a 16mm production. The film was produced by Loet C. Barnstijn's Filmstad, the same company that was behind Dutch success stories such as De JantjesĀ and Merijntje Gijzen's jeugd.
