Morgen gaat het beter!
Summary
Romantic comedy about a young woman's unexpected career as a radio presenter.
Willy Verhulst (Lily Bouwmeester) who is still coming to terms with the death of her mother, loses her father as well, just as she is about to sit her final exams. She manages to pass and as she is trying to find a job she remembers a man, Mr. Herder (Paul Steenbergen), who was in hospital with her father and who offered her a job. He works for a radio station and gives her a job as a secretary. When a presenter is suddenly indisposed, Willy speaks to the audience and also comes up with a thought for the day. She is fired forthwith but her words have so impressed the listeners that she is offered a programme of her own. After a failed romance with her downstairs neighbour, Willy now sees her way clear to a more successful reunion with Herder.
Morgen gaat het beter! is the second film made by production company Neerlandia, headed by Jo de Wind and Rudolf (Rudi) Meyer. Meyer fled to the Netherlands after Hitler came to power and is regarded as the Netherland's first real producer, a man who understood what it took to make a production that was up to standard. After the war, Meyer produced such films as Haanstra's Fanfare (1958) and Paul Rotha's De overval (1962).
