Summary

Comedy about three carefree students in pre-war Leiden Malle gevallen, like the Jordaan films, is centred around a number of popular actors, a handful of songs and a simple plot. This time the story has been moved away from the working classes to the more sophisticated trappings of Leiden student life. Students Bram, Boy and Hans fall in love with schoolgirls Toos, Kitty and Loeki, who works as a secretary. The endless complications do not stand in the way of marriage although Bram, preferring his life as an eternal student, decides to remain a bachelor.

Director Jaap Speyer, whose film De Jantjes was a great favourite with the public, turned his second film into a accomplished farce reminiscent of the romantic comedies produced by the dozen in Germany in the mid-1930s in an attempt to match the success of such hugely popular films as Die Drei von der Tankstelle (Wilhelm Thiele, 1930).
