Elst
Summary
Documentary about the cherry season in the village of Elst in the Betuwe.
This film shows the cherry-picking season in Elst. The film, shot on a sunny day, looks cheerful and light. A man on a long ladder picks the cherries that grow high up in the tree. Every fifteen minutes, the cherry-pickers gather at the sorting table. A hunter keeps the starlings at bay. Four girls – the intertitles refer to them as ‘the starlings' – pick cherries and eat them with great relish. The film ends with shots of Elst, filmed from a car.
