Biography
Piet Ooms first became well known as a competitive swimmer, and took part in the Olympic Games of 1908. As an extra in the film Weergevonden, he saved the hero from drowning.
For years, Ooms was the administrative manager of the theatre companies of Louis Bouwmeester and Esther de Boer - van Rijk, before becoming a representative for Paramount Films in 1926.
In October 1940, he took a job in the film rental department of the Algemeen Amsterdams Film Agentschap (AAFA).
