Summary

Crime film about a group of travellers stranded on a deserted railway station.

A group of travellers - a magician and his assistant, a pair of newly weds, a doctor, an alcoholic lady and an inspector who plays the buffoon - find themselves in a haunted railway station. The inspector, helped by some of his fellow passengers, finds out the ghost is really a gang of smugglers.

De spooktrein is based on the English play 'The Ghost Train' which had enjoyed a continuous run in the theatres from its first showing in 1918. The play's author, Arthur Ridley, is better known as private Godfrey from the popular television series Dad's Army.
