Summary

Public information film on tuberculosis prevention.TB is hitting the Verhulst family hard: father Karel falls victim to the disease and it is only through a timely medical intervention that his daughter Els escapes the same fate. On being diagnosed with TB she goes to sanatorium Hoog Laren. Her brother Jan, who works as a smithy and has been looking after the family after his father's death, refuses to acknowledge his own health problems and dies of the disease as well. Els gets well, marries a nice young man and has a baby. The young family moves into an airy, modern house.
